Boxkite starting build!!!

Postby Ron Dickey » Thu Jul 19, 2007 6:13 pm

After all these years.... plans.... purchases.... my floor was made years ago and now I am starting to put up the walls....

I always had something get in my way.... and it did my septic tank needed to be dug out and emptied etc.....

But I am using my build to relax me.

New Dead line Sept. Mantana De Oro meet.

No mater how un done it is I will be there with it. even if I have to put it in the back of my truck.
Pix to follow some time soon

A journey of a thousand miles starts with smashing your thumb with a hammer. So it goes.

Keep working on it. You'll get there.
Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).

Just when you think a problem is solved, an uglier result replaces it.

Good job Ron...

Don't lose the momentum now...

Years ago, eh? I remember years ago, Pam threw you off her forum cause you were not building fast enough... or something like that...

But it doesn't matter how long it takes... as long as you do something in the right direction.

Looking forward to seeing more pictures... You've got the camera. Use it!!!

Mike...

Well I am trying to remember I think it was more that I was not making a true teardrop and she was stricter then I thought about the design..... but I was not going at it very fast.

But now that I have seen even more of them it helps. me see better what I could do ..... I also have found that it is eazy for me to get drawen in a new direction .... I realize if I do not get it done these new ideas will make the build almost imposible.

Ron.

I have spent this week mostly sleeping in a tent ..... Stiff although we sleeped on an air mattress.....

Went to be with the Northern" teardrops in Trees" group a kinda Renesaunse on wheels.... saw what they did with thiers.

Going down south to Action, CA to do some more sleeping on the ground.

got a free stay at Thousand trails camp ground they will give me some speel on time shareing  but if it is free I am all for it. Hope to catch up with my cousin. He is a real camper loves to sleep where wilderness has no other humans.

Looking forward to not having to unpack and rade the kitchen with out digging.

outside wall were cut a long time ago....

inside walls now cut except door part.

will put up out side walls after i recut the door part not straight lines.

then I will attach sceleton (or what ever you call it. drill holes for some wiring. then install insolation, followed by inside walls.

I also need to cut top of inside walls for cross beams. Pull out galley may or may not happen. I am not that skilled at this point to take them on. besides Lucia has not said how she wants it set up. I only know that she is bothered by people bending forward to get at stuff in the galley.
she is under 5 feet tall. and reaching and hight things need to be worked out.
see album up dating as I go.

:P :hammer: :wine party: :wakka wakka:  :wine:
My first side is up it is the same one you see in that shot to the left. Except it is attach to the real floor. The floor is removable from the trailer. Origanal intent was for the unit to go onto the truck bed or on a trailer.

I have some pix some where.....
Watch the album....
