Julie
50 is Dave and Cindy 51 is hap, 52 is Pat Hopkins, and 60 is yours truly Trudy and me. 42 isn't on the map but it's Fred and Tazman. The only non-tear sites are 56,57,45,47,48, and maybe 58. so we just about got the whole thing to ourselves. Can't wait to get there We've been having camping withdraw since Minden.

Well Charles and I are ready to get out of town and camping. The new teardrop is 98% ready to roll.....
Charles noticed this morning that the plastic hinge was torn so we had to take things apart and go the route he said he should have taken first. We used a paino hinge and covered it with rubber on the Coca Cola teardrop and never had a problem so that's what we did today. He is out shopping for a tongue box right now. We have to put pulls on galley cabinets and that's about it. We'll have to use the air mattress one more time as I haven't decided on a mattress just yet.
See you all Friday......

Since it looks like meat is never in short supply at TD potlucks, I can either do a veggie, or a dessert.

Now, I've done my black bean thingy a couple times already, so I'm thinkin' bout going out on a limb with one of my favorite desserts.

To do this, I need to keep Ice Cream frozen till it's time to eat it. That's the challenge -- any suggestions are welcome.

I make a pretty mean bananas Foster -- another Nawlins invention. I'll do it if folks will eat it -- and I can keep the ice cream frozen till Saturday night.

Any interest?

Keep ice cream frozen?????

How about making home made ice cream saturday evening?

Sorry, I'd bring a ice cream mixer if I hadn't dropped it and shattered it.

Jack is the expert, but it may be a job for dry ice. Banana's foster sounds good to me.

Casey
Wal-marts up here sell dry ice that should keep the ice cream frozen for a while in a small styrofoam cooler.

Okay, I'll give it a try. I've never done bananas Foster outside my sacred kitchen, but what the heck.

I'll look for some dry ice next week, and ice down the Blue Bell.

CD, dry ice is probably what you need...but beware...it is -110*F and will "burn" you if touched with bare hands...it also is comprised of frozen CO2 and as it sublimates(melts) it turns into CO2 gas so keep it in a vented area...also try to keep it above what ever you want to keep frozen so that it doesn't get wet as it will sublimate faster when wet...if all you have in the box is the ice cream, I would stuff all the empty areas with newspaper to help with insulation and consider putting a wrap of duct tape around the opening.....

My wife and I are looking foward to meeting everyone next week. I have to give everyone a warning. We had our trailer out twice and it rained both times. We were out a couple of weeks ago and about fifteen minutes after we got there it started. It never stoped till we got home. I think it was over 5inches. The lakes are still flooded from that rain.
I checked the Weather Channel this morning and it is calling for rain next weekend. I do not worry too much about this because they are wrong most of the time.
I got several ideas for the potluck I just need to make a decision. Let me know if anyone wants something special and I will try my best to come up with something.

Rich what's a little rain. The Blue Bonnet Tear is coming and we're bring the Winter Warrior and they both survived Cedar Hill 2006. 9 inches in 48 hours.

Have you ever taken a small chip of dry ice and put it in a surgical glove? It blows up the glove. There is another latex product that would probably work, too, and would be quite funny, as well. :D

CD, try putting some in a plastic soda bottle, screw the top down and tossing a safe distance away...makes a nice BOOM...make sure there are no "authorities" in the area when you try this one...
