John...I am a fan of anilin dyes, and there is an incredible purple. I saw it on a runabout at the Tahoe Concours boat show, under epoxy and automotive clear coat. It was incredible.........Just an idea, but this might help hold the color over time, It was pretty bright however. I just got yellow maple for the framing on my woody tear today. Need to mix it up and see what it looks like. Good luck on you tear and keep all of us posted. Doug Hodder
