Hey Elmer!

Stop by the new shop and say "Howdy." At the very least, toot the horn as you pass by Tomah (that's where we live). :vroom:

Sometimes Cary goes to Sturgis but not this year as he's at Oshkosh for the week.

I have a brother-in-law who goes to Sturgis every year...say "Hi" to him for me if you see him...he's a really big, swarthy looking guy....um, well, actually, that probably describes most of the bazillion guys there.

Things are upside down. It is usually in the low hundreds here by now, but it is 84 degrees in Dallas right now.

We have your weather, and you have ours.

While we are on the subject.... (well, now that I've got your attention),

Just thought I'd put out an invite to my fellow teardroppers! We are hosting a pie & ice cream social at our church tonight and you are all welcome! We will be making ice cream and there will be lots of homemade pies (I made a blueberry and a chocolate 5 layer pie).

We're also having some good old fashioned fun - egg toss, egg & spoon race, sack races, tug of war (with a tow rope for semis), 3 legged race, etc. :woohoo:

Come on and join us if you are in the Sparta, Wisconsin area around 6:00pm!

Betsey :)

Huh? First I've heard of it. I gotta look.

Dallasd doesn't have much in the way of refining. That's all South and West of here. I don't know what could be burning.

Oh, that is not a refinery. That is a company that sells gas cylindars for welders. Apparently, a truck caught on fire at the loading dock, and things got out of hand. The fire then spread into the building, where tanks of oxygen tanks, helium and acetylene began blowing up.

They can't get close to put ou the fire yet, because of exploding canisters.

I know where that place is, and it is close enough to I-30 and i-35 to force authorities to close those two highways down. That will really suck come rush hour.

I'm 30 miles from there, so yes.

Holy Schnikes!!! Check out the video at www.wfaa.com

That is the wildest fire I've ever seen. One by one, all those canisters are exploding, and going up like misiles. They are landing as far as a half-mile away!

That's crazy.

I'll be in SD. next week for Sturgis. I hope next week Thursday is cooler.

We're staying with my son who lives just outside of the Ellsworth Airbase, but I'm sure we will do stop at Sturgis. We should be at my son's by Tueday & plan to be there for about 2 weeks.

PapaJ is going to Sturgis too. Junkman will be running a Domino's booth at Sturgis. It isn't very far from Rapid City & the Air Force Base is just east of Rapid City. If you like planes Ellsworth has a nice air museum with lots of actual planes.
