Wow what a thread! Fun too. Haven't been around much this summer, but taking the time to read all 49 pages LOL.. Steve did you get the Stripper Pole idea from Pam Anderson? I hear she had one installed in her Airstream for her boyfriend... oh that doesn't sound right... I think she was the one that was going to use it... not him... well he would watch it being used I suppose...

I just made it back from another whirlwind camping trip. I'll post a little write-up in the tales section of the forums in a bit.

I camped at Cedar Breaks Park in Georgetown, TX on Friday. I didn't take my awning or outside table with me because it was supposed to rain all weekend. Notice that I said "supposed" to rain. Not a drop fell on me. That's usually how it works, right?


Campsite #64 at Cedar Breaks Park. It was a nice campground, although most of it was under water. The lake is 32' above normal. Eek! I had one guy stop by and look at the camper and is thinking about converting his cargo trailer (that he was camping in) into something Puffinish.


Buddy #1 stopped by and camped with me Friday night. She brought a little friend with her.

Buddy #2 called and said that she couldn't meet me for lunch, so I left Georgetown and headed for Lake Somerville.


Buddy #3 met me at Lake Somerville and we had a lot of fun. This picture was taken right after we did some mountain biking, and I'm not sure what the beverage is she has in her hand.


This is the campsite at Lake Somerville. My favorite site is 101 because it's on the least busy side of the park (it was almost empty this weekend) because it's away from the lake. I prefer to be away from everyone else, and I don't use the lake, just the mountain biking trails around it.

Notice all of the rain clouds in the above photo? Neither do it. No awning or outside table. Grrrr.

wa_flyfisher - There really isn't anything difficult about building these except finding the time. I keep upgrading and improving my camper when I have a little extra cash to do so.

nikwax - Making the bed wider is the easy part, making it longer would be a little more difficult. If I'm camping with someone, then I don't mind being close to them at night. If they don't want to be close to me while sleeping, then they can camp with someone else.

Mary K - Thanks Mary. I need to get those plans/drawing online. I just need to force myself to sit down for a few days and do it. I have a dead week next week, I may try it then.

Thunderknight - If you find an idea you like on the Puffin, then you should steal it because I probably stole it to begin with. As for the lights, it does have a movie-theater type effect. I like them better on the floor.

poolking - I'll let you know. It will probably be soon, maybe in a couple of weeks. Buddy #4 is a good mountain biker and we usually hit parks that have nice trails, and Huntsville is one of the best. I imagine it's still quite muddy up there at the moment.

Seanie - Welcome to the board. Sometimes I think this thread is more fun than building.

NoNeck - I do the same thing. I check the board for the new posts, then I go after my email.

campadk - The stripper pole again... I think I may have to install one and get a few photos of my buddies humoring you guys. I didn't know about the Pam Anderson stripper pole Airstream connection. Is it sorta like the "if you build it, they will come?" Funny story about that clock - it doesn't have a battery, and it never has. I really don't know why it's there. *shrugs* I'd love to come up there in the spring - it looks like you guys have some scenery up that way. Nice Airstream BTW.
