Yup, it's a possum.

Possums are awesome! They eat dead stuff, bugs, mice, and rotting stuff. They're non-agressive. They have a low body temperatures so they don't carry disease. They can't see well, and most people think they're ugly so they get a bad rep. They're called living fossils because they've been around basically unchanged for 70 million years. They're actually very interesting animals.

Buddy #1 is works in wildlife rehabilitation. She fixes possums, raccoons, squirrels, deer, birds, etc. when they need help.

nikwax - Making the bed wider is the easy part, making it longer would be a little more difficult. If I'm camping with someone, then I don't mind being close to them at night. If they don't want to be close to me while sleeping, then they can camp with someone else.

Actually, buddy #5 just called and we're going to West Texas (Fort Davis, TX) in two weeks. This is a fluke - when it rains it pours. Anyone in that part of the world is welcome to check out the Puffin.

I like to consider myself broad-minded and I can see that you could so easily get in one of those awkward calling-her-by-the-wrong-name situations but, even so, I do feel giving girls numbers may be going a bit too far. I'm surprised they stand for it, to be honest.......

I suppose you're too young to remember Patrick McGoohan as 'The Prisoner' (that did get to America, right?) - "I am not a number, I am a free man" would have to be rewritten as "I am not a number, I am a named woman".

Personally I wouldn't remember their number either and I'm sure that, in order to avoid calling #2 #3, asking them write their number on their forehead in face paint is just bound to cause offence. Probably rub off on the pillowcases too........

we did indeed have The Prisoner here in the mid-60's, and I for one was a huge fun. Way ahead of its time.

I was born in the 70's, so I don't recall it.

It's actually quite simple. #1, #2, & #5 live in the Austin area. #3 in Houston, #4 in Dallas. No wait, I think #4 moved to San Antonio. No, that's was #3. Dammit!
