Thank you Doug! I am going to try to keep the trim as light as possible. Some of the front is heavier spalted so it may darken. Thinking an outside clear coat. :worship:

My perfect hatch is now listing to the street side. It seems to be off 1/2" from the bottom corner to the other side. I have it propped up and pushing it the hopes it will go back. Someday I wish I hadn't done a hatch. It sure is a pita right now.  :baby:

Thank you Martha! Are you still in the Dakota's? I hope you are having fun.

Oh yeah---door almost done. I left gap according to some people who trimmed out with alum. I don't want to do that so I might rebuild this later!

Autie M your door looks good. I like seeing that purdy wood. I think it too late for a nap now, maybe tomorrow. Could camp out in it tonight.

Miriam,
Your door looks great!
We just got here yesterday around 1pm. We came via San Diego County, left Sunday with 2 long days driving & 1 half day. My son's off though the 13th, so I don't know if we will be here until then or not.
Probably depends on how many projects father & son get involved in.
Right now they're working on putting a computer together.

Nice to know you landed Martha. Have a good time! I forgot to get a picture with the handle on. Thank you for the kind compliments. I wanted to get it out and take a good picture but we got tied up most of the day with Dr, tags and inspections....

Wish someone would come clean my garage for me.

Barrie, we live just East of Joplin Missouri in the South Western corner of the State.

Yes I whacked my finger using a rotary cutter intended for fabric. Would have worked if I had used the mat to cut it on instead of trying to trim wood in the air.

Miriam,

Sorry for not replying to this answer more than two weeks ago. We were away on holiday, and did not get the time to check this thread. Thanks also for the geography lesson. I had to look up Missouri in the atlas though (Did not know where it was  ). Sorry.

Thanks again for the answer.

Kind Regards,
Barrie

Ha! Easy to find~~~just go to the middle of the end of the earth and take a left. Then zigzag (not the papers) your way slightly south and when there is no good lumber you made it..

Missouri in the USA? Show Me.
Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).

Hi all,

Thanks for all the posts. Now I don't feel so bad about my geography knowledge! :)

The US is really a big place. My wife and I toured there for ten weeks in 1999. We went from coast to coast, and know about the 'more popular' states like New York, Florida, California, Texas (Dallas...), but unfortunately Missouri wasn't one of them.

I liked the Niagara falls (although the town was too commercialised), and the Grand Canyon. Denver was a really beautiful city, and the climate is very similar to Johannesburg. Both are exactly a mile high in altitude. We don't get snow in Jhb though. California was a lot like Durban (at the coast), and believe it or not, we liked New York city. The place has a buzz to it... It was just a pity we could not go to Florida. At the time the entire state was evacuated because of some big hurricane. Bummer!

Oops, I just realised I was hijacking the thread. It's your build thread Miriam, so keep the pictures coming.

Keep well.
Barrie
