Question on installing sheet metal

I have gotten all my sheet metal cut and ready to install my question is,
since I have a 1 x 1 square tube frame should I put adhesive on all points of contact or just around the edges? I dont have pictures on this computer so i will post some tomorrow to show how much will make contact. I was also wondering if anyone knows of a clear coat in an aerosol can? I am wanting to use the aluminum angle that you can get from HD, but i've been told i need to clear coat it once its ready to install. I know this is alot of questions but I just want to make sure I dont install something that will get ruined if I have to take it back off. Here is the adhesive I found That I think will work

it has a real good work time and sets relatively fast compared to others so we'll see what happens. One more question I have is when I do glue the sheet metal down do I need to go behind it with a sealant of some sort to water proof it?

Hey BigD,
Have you thought about using pop rivets? On our first build (The Coca Cola Teardrop) was framed out of 1"square tubing and we applied the aluminum skin with pop rivets. Was a great way to go too.

I did consider pop rivets but the only experience I've had with them is with a dirt car I used to race and they didn't look good enough for something that people were going to be that close too.Also I wasn't sure if I could match the color of the rivets to the color of the sheet metal.

Did you build your own doors or did you buy something and modify it?

We did not paint our rivets. The Coca Cola Tear is red of course and the rivets were naturally silver. Didn't look bad at all.

I think the next tear will be out of square tubing again. Charles likes working with metal much better than wood.

We have a friend that owns an RV dealership and he gives us damaged doors that they replace. Charles cuts them off, reskins them and we then have a great door for our teardrop in progress. He's done this on all of our tears. A friend of ours purchased doors and cut them off. Rather expensive to do he said.
