Covering With Aluminum or Filon??? Opinions Needed

Postby sandman » Mon Aug 06, 2007 8:40 am

Hey Guys,

Not that I am ready to apply my outer skin on my Teardrop, but just wondering some of the in's and out's of using aluminum or filon. Which is cheaper????

If you would choose aluminum, What thickness would be best on a teardrop??? Need some good links to suppliers too. Any help much appreciated.

I never priced it but from what I've heard, Filon is kinda pricy. Aluminum is easier to get, but the wide aluminum you need for the roof is a bit difficult to get. Something in the .032 or .040 range is a good thickness to use. Some people have used thicker or thinner but it may be because that was what they were able to find.
