Looks like a Woodsmith (plans) chess set. Image

Here's Jane making her second one. She had a great time making them for college graduation presents (with a little help from you know who ;) ) Danny

Welcome aboard Steve! :applause:
With your woodworking skills I'm sure you could build a beautiful teardrop trailer.
Wanted to let you know there is going to be a gathering in the San Luis Obispo area mid-Sept if you could make it down. There should be almost 30 teardrop trailers there with some little trailers & a couple of tents of future builders. You'll find more information about it under Camping & Gatherings: South West.
Everyone is very helpful & friendly around here.
Glad you found us.
Martha ;)

Welcome aboard, Steve! You do what I dream about! I dream a lot! I have, however, perfected the art of making sawdust. Just ask my wife! She says my hobby is making little pieces of wood out of big pieces of wood!

Good luck on the teardrop! Take everybody's advice about seeing as many as you can before you decide what to build! It will save you a lot of money and time! Of course, I had to buy one to find out what I liked and didn't like.

This is what it looked like when i bought it

Steve,
Glad to see you signed up for the SLO gathering!
Before starting to build it is great to see some different ones up close.
Make sure you bring a camera to take pictures of ideas you like. Teardroppers borrow ideas all the time.
It is a great way to see a whole variety of trailers & from there you decide what you like. Its hard to find two trailers alike, which is part of the fun IMHO.
Also a great place to get lots of tips, but doesn't look like you will need any when it comes to wood working with the beautiful furniture you have built.
Martha ;)
