Not far behind you for slow, MaryK. And, my computer is halfway decent -
Compared to dial up it's worth the bucks.

ATT DSL here. Now I wonder what I should be getting, or at least what I'm paying for.

Wanna bet? I'm running a Win 98 on a 566!! HA!! I am using DSL

Please don't tell me that if I purchased a new PC, it will not get faster. :fb

When I dumbed down my high speed cable to save a few bucks, supposedly, the connection speed went from 10 Mbps to 765 Kbps... (seemingly a huge difference).

I did the speed test and got 1658 & 281....

I now pay about 33% less and have noticed NO decrease is upload or download performance....

I suspect other things come into play besides the speed of the connection.

IBM T40 laptop, XP pro 768 Meg ram, Pentium M 1.5

Image

Old Micron AMD 1 ghz, with 128 meg ram

All connected to internet via wireless network, lynksys 80211 b router. I'm sure there are ways to tweak the connection

I really hate to pay that Comcast bill every month, but the fast service lets me work from home 3 days a week.
Now if I could go 100% virtual, my company would pay the bill  .
I wonder if my boss would forget who I am
