Here's the trailer so far, working 40 hours a week and coming home to work on the tear before the evening thunderstorms come slows the whole building process down. Plus, I also had some issues with squaring the floor to the chassis frame. After working all that out here are some pics to show the progress.

Can someone tell me what type of TT I'm building? I just designed it from several different layouts. I'd like to sound like I know what I'm talking about when people ask.

The mock up and me.

The floor laid out with out the framing and my daughter who can't wait to get this thing done.

Image[/b]

One of the problems I had was not enough comfortable room between the tires and walls. I still have to add a 1/4'' to the walls.

Image

Framing all done applied the black goo to the bottom

Image

Flipped it over, cleaned it up and painted on the floor - paint is a lot lighter then tiles

Image

Got new wheels and tires that gave me so much more room between the walls the tires

Image

I'll keep everyone up to date, next step is to finish the footwell, goo it and paint it. Bolt the floor down to the frame, then I'm starting on the walls.

:applause: Good job Mike. Were the tires too wide. That is a big difference you have going on.

The old wheels were 15x7 and the tires were 225 so I went to 15x5 and 205s. It made huge difference.

Looks great Mike!!! and since it's your profile, you name it...You also might want to write down the coordinates for the curves, as I'm sure others are going to want to build this in the future... Doug

Doug,

Being that I work at a sign company, as you know. My drawing was created in Flexi Sign. It's probably easier for me to supply a PDF for my layout. If I have the time maybe I could write down the coordinates.

 Good looking design

As Doug stated it's all yours that's the beauty of building from scratch you can make it one of a kind just how you want it.
My layout was done on a piece of cardboard in the livingroom I have no computer skills in designing so mine was fly by the seat.

again :applause:

Looking good. You will be camping soon. Keep up the good work. Are you going to be able to make it to "The Last Gasp of Summer" ? http://tnttt.com/viewtopic.php?t=16744 You don't need to finish, just road ready.

We're trying. I should have the walls started sometime next week. The last gasp isn't for another month and half if I'm not done then something major went wrong.

I kind of got my design from Danny's tear

Image :)

I had to modify it a bit so we could fit certain things that we had in mind. As you can see it they kind of look the same, even has a footwell.

Big De just saw your tear post, I was going to build mine out of 1'' square alum. but decided just last week that I had more freedom with a wood frame. I would have had to use rivets and sheet metal screws. I like the idea of glue, brad nails and some wood screws.

Benzu,
I'm like you I didnt want to use rivets or screws so I found an adhesive I'm going to use and :worship: I don't look in my rear view on the way to the LCG and see it peeling apart like an old dried out onion.

:( I feel so stupid, i never even thought about the tire size. I was trying to figure out how you got the gap without cutting the trailer and floor. Sometimes i think i overthink everything i think. Good job!! I am looking forward to this being complete  :applause: :applause:

Mike, when I first started looking at this thread I thought it looked familiar. ;) It's almost the same except for the missing roll pans in the front and rear, lots of extra work. Tell people it's a modified Benroy, that's what Grant Whipp calls it. It looks great  Danny
