Today I made a quick recon trip to Inks Lake. I am on vacation and don't have a way to download photos, but I will post a few (only took a few) pictures to give a taste of the park when I get back to Corpus this weekend or the first of next week. Lots of beautiful campsites. It's a jewel of a park with water and hiking trails. For the tent campers and new campers, there are lots of tent sites and lots of new one-room cabins that look wonderful.
For the early arrivals, I think the water sites at the end of the park, sites 238-250 and all the water side sites 232-240 and 258-276 will be great to snag. Not a bad site among 'em. Some have less shade and trees, but all okay. Another area that has some water sites (but not all) would be a good group area--sites 41-55. Another group area and close proximity to the park store and boat ramp--sites 83-94, but would probably be hi traffic area. All these sites have water and electric.
The other end of the park would be good for those who want a little more privacy (the 300 and up sites), but water only--no electric. They are really set up for tents and the parking sites are smaller, but usuable.
If we get some good weather, this should be great. Here it is a Thursday in August and the park was less than half full. It even looked like some water sites were available. We're gonna have fun.
Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).
Just when you think a problem is solved, an uglier result replaces it.
