Im in no real rush now i have three weeks to finish and just need to epoxy and paint, i sealed the interior today and yesterday. I am going to hold off on doign anything on the interior until i take it camping once or twice, once i get an idea ill modify, the AC is going in sometime this week.
Target is havigna sale on 2 inch memory foam for 14.99 Im gonna buy 150 bucks worth nad do my beds with that. I like having a hard surface to sleep on throw in a blanket a sneet and a pillow and its lights out
Well I spend my sunday, epoxying and sealing my trailer. I put fiberglass tape/ epoxy saw dust mix on all my joints. Fibreglassed over the edges of the trailer and then put 1 coat of epoxy over the entire trailer and 2 over the roof.
Question: I put the fibereglass over the edges of the trailer because I wanted to avoid using any kind of trim, well it looks as though that won't work because some of the glass is still "holey" as in you can see throught the weave (not enought resin I guess) WIll adding a couple more coats help? or should I just suck it up and buy trim for the edges? I guess I could use the garage door seal that steve used for his Puffin.
Man that epoxy is like fly paper. I fell against my trailer when I lost my balance on the ladder and now my arms are stained... oh well.
Beevel, if you have access to it I would get some commercial filler and work on getting those holes filled. It is probably water proof but won't look good. I wonder if you can get trim big enough to cover the tape. You didn't say how wide the taper is.

The glass on the roof seams is fine, filled nicely with epoxy so no issues.
The tape along the side edges is where I'm having the issues. I think the biggest problem is that I didn't round over the edges enough thus forcing the fibreglass to make to severe of a bend( in some spots anyway).
My intention is, and this is where the creative juices start to flow, I am going to sand the fiber glass taped areas to smooth them out just a little, then I am going to epoxy clear duct tape to the corners. I did a little test today with regular duct tape and scrap wood and it worked great.
A little bit redneck... But hey I just came up with its 1002 nd use, travel trailer sealing.
I just finished painting and managed to hang 2 windows.
I have 2 more windows to do, I need to mount the lights, add a outer door jam weather stip. And some cosmetic stuff, like a grey accent strip.
I also need to finish the interior but as she stands now I can use her.
It ended up taking, 3 coats of epoxy, 2 coats of primer and 3 coats of tremclad. I'm satisified but not truly happy with the final results but hey, live and learn.
Mike had opined in an earlier post that with the wheels so far forward you might need and anti-sway bar. I see you have it hooked up to your tow vehicle - how does it tow?
Haven't towed it yet. I'll probably take it for a test tow on Sunday. I have a few things left to do tomorrow ( lights being one of them) and then she'll be good to go.
In hindsight I would have moved the wheels back about 12 inches,( but then in hindsight I would have done a few things differently) having said that she is definetely tounge heavy as it stands now, when we pack it for camping all of our supplies are going to be packed in front of the axle so I don't forsee any problems. I don't ussually tow over 110km/h(65mph) anyway so even it it sways a little I'll be okay.
Well, she's done (on the outside anyway) and useable. I managed to finish installing the windows today, hooking up my lights and doing the two tone paint.
Took it out for a quick tow and my Jimmy doesn't even feel the trailer back there.
Here are a couple more pics
Next... finish the interior.... I think I'll stop workng on it for a little bit, I need a break.... Now I have to finish the things around the house that I've been neglecting
Beevel, your trailer looks great! I'm impressed. How did you get your license tag so quickly? And how did you get away with so few running lights? I went to the Ohio state patrol inspector last week, and he's got me up to 18 running lights (not including brake lights)! He claims since it is a hard sided camper I have to have the appropriate indicators for night driving. Do you have these requirements where you are?
No galley, though? I'm not sure the ultimate value of a galley, but they draw a lot of attention when camping!
As far as the running lights, Hudsonite, Ohio is the only state worse than California when it comes to regulations, I'll bet! Here in Arizona, we just honk when we go through an intersection!
