Greetings from Oregon ...

Postby schaney » Tue Aug 14, 2007 7:07 pm

Hi, my name is Scott Chaney. I have a company called Compact Camping Concepts. I build compact, lightweight alternatives to traditional tent trailers. I’m located in Corvallis, Oregon. I’ve been working on some ideas for a DIY plywood/epoxy trailer box and a fold-out trailer top tent.

I wanted to test the waters and see if DIY tent trailer design discussions where welcome here and people with “commercial” interests??

hi and welcome. From what I see anyone is welcome here. It will depend on if you get answers or not to your questions. There may come a thread to see how long it takes to convert you to teardrops!

Image to the playground Scott. We do in fact have a "For Sale" section and a Teardrop Manufacture section. Look through the site and Enjoy. Expect to be converted. :D ;)

You didn't need to "convert" me, I already like Teardrops too. From my kayak/canoe building experience, I've been toying with a starburst woodstrip side design. Although I would do a pop-up roof style like the old KampMasters.

Mike,

The a ready-to-roll diamond plate with trailer top tent trailers start at $2299.00. You can also get a tent unit separately and build your own. I have not priced the Woody trailer out yet, but it initially looks like $4000 - $5000 for a ready-to-roll trailer and $2200 - $2500 for materials to build your own.

See Non-traditional design for a post on the Woody.
