Propane Dutch Ovens?

I was just playing with my new Stainless Steel propane stove, a Brinkmann of all things. They make those water smokers too.

So the question is, have they started making propane dutch ovens yet? Not quite like the propane crockpot that Brick posted a picture of...

Mike, it would require a burner on the top and bottom to cook like a camp Dutch Oven . I guess I could get a small no leg DO and put it in my TD's oven Danny

For years I used a kitchen type dutch oven (no legs and no ash gaurd) that I've had since back in my Boy Scout days, making beans and stews over a propane burner while camping. It works fine except you'r limited to what you can cook because of only having bottom heat.
Now that I've discovered both top and bottom heat, I liken using a dutch oven on a propane burner to having the coolest hotrod and only starting it up and letting it idle, instead of taking it out for a cruise...

There's a guy on the IDOS site that has converted cast iron well casings into mamouth DOs... There at least 3' in diameter.

Nope... He uses briquettes.
He doesn't count individual briquettes like you and I.
He either counts them by the chimney or bag.
I'll try to dig a picture for yaa...

Hey Mike,

You might look at this link. I have not used one. Was thinking, oh that hurts, of making one. A round steel plate for the DO with leg to set on over the brner and then the top.

Let know what you think. I would like to come up with some way of using the DO on the cooktop for more than soups.
