 We are within striking distance of doubling the humor thread, only 8 more pages and 119 posts 8) All on a thread I thought might get ten replies

Good morning all :)

We had a cold front come through friday night... with thunderstorms. Yesterday and today highs in the 60's.

yes lots of work today... although not td's... I am bridge building  I am building my first bridge today. I have at least 5 planned... it will somewhat depend on how long the lumber lasts.

Morning all!

Today I'll be starting to get ready for next weekend's Dutch Oven Gathering in California. I know what I plan to cook so it's just a matter of getting organized. Grocery list, clothes washed, ovens picked out, trailer linens put on the bed....stuff like that.

I hope everyone has a nice day!

glenn,

What kind of wooden bridges are you building?

Is this something you do for a living or just a hobby? :D

Please advise, as inquiring minds want to know.

Uncle mike wrote that. They use the same avatar (only reversed) to confuse people. I always have to look twice at their posts (even then I am confused often) to see who's posting.

good morning everybody.

I tend to look at the signature last. The avatar picture is what I look at first, I am learning to double check your avatar, but I am slow. Only when there is no picture do I read the name. To really mess me up, people would only have to trade avatars. If Bobgorilla for instance put up a picture of himself, I would not recognize him for a month.

ps you seem to be having fun with confusing people, so I will have a little fun straitening them out. Avatar wise.

unfortunetly I don't have a digital camera... so no pictures yet... maybe Santa will be good to me.

Bridges: I have been building trails out on the back forty. Trails for walking, running, xc skiing, snowshoeing and mountain biking. I also cut my own firewood off this... so these trails give me access. I have already installed many culverts, but have some places where bridges would work better. [the place is very hilly with a lot of brooks running through it]

I just received about 1500bd ft of used pressure treated 2x6's.

I also just bought a post hole digger for my tractor. The first hole this morning did not go so well. I got hooked on something and it pulled the augger all the way into the ground before I could react.. Then I could not get it out  They need a reverse on the PTO.

I did eventually get it out.. the second hole was not much better. The next two went pretty good.

I have made up the bridge end supports... and built up my two main beams. I am in now for lunch... then I go down to try and put this together. :D

 Del, I actually had a friend of mine take my picture at a party last night but he had never tried to email from his phone and it didn't work (note to all I'm trying) If I really wanted to confuse you I'll get Mike to change my forum name after I finally get a picture:lol:
