Freebird.....Its actually the same unit. If you go to HiTechs website they are presently on sale for $299.95 because they are backordered until September. HiTech is in the process of becoming the new USA distributer since PetCool got sold. Great time to pick one up since most as you realized are in the $400-500 range. Also HiTechs $299.95 includes the shipping. Great Deal. I have mine on order as do a few others here.
