Privacy curtain

Postby cheryl mclendon » Sat Aug 18, 2007 11:17 pm

:D Hi ladies, Some of you wanted to know how the privacy curtain was constructed.I took 4 pieces of 1/2" p.v.c pipe (36") and 4p.v.c. elbows, hook them all together to give me my support holder. I left one end unglued so I can replace or remove my curtain when I'm setting up or packing up. I purchased my RED curtains at Wal-Mart. I bought 3 and sewed them all together. These curtains worked GREAT because they have loop tabs across the top making it easy for me to loop the curtain around my frame support. I use RED velcro tabs and hook the support frame to the top of my e-z up canopy frame. WAAAALAAAA instant privacy room. I will try to get pictures but I'm kinda computer DUMB :? and will need Joanne's help as to post them here. Total cost was around $30.00 for instant privacy room.

:applause: Thanks Cheryl for the instructions. Maybe those and pictures need to be posted in one of the threads/ or a new thread for shelters. I really like the idea.

Privacy curtain

Postby CAJUN LADY » Mon Aug 20, 2007 10:04 am

Hi ladies:

What is it about ladies and the color red? I LOVE red and I put lots of red accents in my TD. I did want my dishes to be red but I thought I would add some flavor and used lime green. I like all those "hot" colors.

If you look in my album, I made a 5' tall, 4' long (from door to end) by 5' wide privacy room using 3/4" pvc and I sewed 3 sides together of denim (lighter than actual denim) material leaving the top corners open in order to connect the pvc together. Sewing that much material will wear even the most patient person's nerves out! But, I loved the outcome. Unfortunately, I couldn't use it at Ft. Clinch since it rained for 40 days and 40 nights...well, it felt like it anyway.

Yes Lynn, I should mention those @#!* coons! I love nature - I love animals - I love the outdoors - I HATE RACOONS! They are sneaky, masked, safe-cracking varmits who have no shame when they open all your soda cans, tear open your charcoal and then raid your neighbors cooler and steal ALL his meat. I think they actually came back to my camp and bbq'd using my coals. I know (or at least I thought) to pick up any food items, don't leave dirty dishes, etc., but I can't figure out why they opened - tore open the sodas and the charcoal. Hmmmm. One of the campers said they he thinks those coons go to school to learn this stuff. I am still laughing.

Lynn, do you remember that my A/C went out after the first night? Well, I had my dear electrician friend, look at my trailer wiring Saturday and when he did, I had no electricty at all. The wiring was all wrong and all the moisture from that downpour shorted everything. So, I bought the parts and he rewired everything and I mean everything for free. I am now ready to camp in comfort again.

Joann, how do I post a photo in this email? I just can't figure it out.

Thanks, btw to all who had sleeping suggestions. I like the idea of drawers under the bed; will probably use a bedroll on top of a closed cell foam mat for right now, but will be checking out those types of twin waterbed and trundle bed style frames for the future!

Gaelen:

I started off using a queen air matress but quickly moved on to a 4" solid queen size foam mattress that I ordered from Knox Foam in Tennessee. I wouldn't use anything else now. What a difference!

Red red red..... yes, I love red too !!! My Jewel box would be perfect if it was silver and gold but it is wood and not aluminum covered.
I started to paint it all red but my tow car right now is black. So I am going with OU Sooner type colors, of CRIMSON and CREAM !!! haha
I have some more painting on the exterior to do soon. I painted my stove table red and have red divided plates I got from Wally Marty and red tumblers and cereal bowls to match. Found a red corkscrew at the grocery store and a red paring knife at Dollar Tree. I bought a cream colored vinyl shower curtain for whenever I get my little dressing room add on made.

You can imagine the Red District theme I came up with , which would be racey but would be a hoot.... a red porchlight and red lights around the campsite and easy up.... a little red satin curtains and dim lights inside with some sultry music and a box labeled "toys" and some graphics on the exterior by the door with "prices by the hour" etc. .... teehee !!!
Some things are way over my head !! ...but it keeps me looking UP!

lol  You are having just way too much fun with this! I love the red also but it goes with my black and white checkered tile. Tow vehicle was a red 1955 Ford now a red mustang. My bowls and utensils are red. red dish towels, bath towels, red and white checked table cloeth. red dishes. red and blue bed quilt and curtains. red ez up canopy and shower/pottie tent. When the tear is painted it will have red decals on the sides and back.

Girl, you are a hoot! I think you should do just that and enjoy the ride (well, you know what I meant). I just ordered a Ginsu knife/block set in red for my TD. My mom just sewed up some red tablecloths for my octagon shaped camp table. Not as easy to sew as I thought but she is a wizard (thanks mom).

I guess I am an unusual chick then - I really don't like the color red
My hubby even stays away from giving me red roses knowing how I feel about red for myself! At least I don't inflict my preferences on others - I buy my mom red stuff because she looks great in red! My favorites are purple and green. I had purple dishes in my T@B before I got tired of dish washing and went with Chinet. A lot of our camping acoutrements are green since it is hard to find purple stuff in camping gear. So you ladies enjoy your red, I'll sit over here in the corner with my purple :)

 I agree Julie, you are a hoot but I like it. Wonder if we can get Mike to wear green glasses so he will think it is black.

You can use Tail lights to get the red lights cheap. They don't draw bugs either. One of the guys did that. I got an amber emergency light that flashes or is just on. That would be fun in red too.

Course we might get run out of town if a bunch of women show up with all red light stuff. 8)

I have decorated it around chili pepper colors. RED-GREEN-YELLOW. I also have a few red hot chili pepper accesories in the galley. I really like it. I call it my red hot tearmale' . Pictures can be seen on this post. I have white monogrammed pillows , white fitted sheet, red flat sheet. Red cook ware, red tea kettle, red dishes and red cook stove. Will post pictures soon. Still looking for Red screen room, any one know where I might find one?

I'm seeing red in my future!

Postby daveleb55 » Mon Aug 20, 2007 11:34 pm

Hi Ladies,

I recently purchased from E-bay a string of RED Solar Stars to hang in the galley of the future. It seemed fitting to have stars in the galley while cooking that late night snack. Or to wish that all tear drop dreams come true!
