Has anyone picked a date or a place?

Kurt, being our unofficial, but duly recognized "Campmaster", please give us your thoughts. Cindi & I should be up for almost anything.

Jim, I haven't been to the Salamonie for camping but this ariel photo looks like a good area. Image

The "point" campsites are (from what I hear) nice with a close proximity to the water. (water level in this pic is unusually low)

My son has been there several times and recommended this to the Mississinewa camp ground. I have been to Mississinewa and wasn't impressed with it. This, at least is near the water and I always like that better.
I have an Indiana fishing license that is still in virgin condition. Except for the 78 blue gills I caught in Brazil, IN., I haven't had much luck.

In my "unofficial" capacity, I would rather go to the Salamonie. The Mississinewa battle re-enactment field is within 30 minutes on good roads.

Sites 195-206 look good as well as 218-246.

Just my own personal opinion. I have not been there to look at it. (yet)

if that is lost bridge, you should know there is a cliff between the sites and
the water, I was just there a couple of weeks ago on a drive by but it is close to the marina where they have boat rentals, I have a rate sheet if anyone is interested.

Scott & all, I'm going to reserve a spot (220 area) so as far as I'm concerned , it's a GO!!.

I can always cancel if plans falls through. :applause:

Update (9:30pm):: I just reserved #220. The gathering is ON, let the planning begin. Scott, would you be willing to keep the graphic list like you did for Turkey Run? I'll keep a text list on the forum.

Even if the turnout is small, the late year gathering should provide a great ending to a fabulous year. :applause:

I just booked #225

I'd be glad to keep the graphics. It will definitely make a good ending to the summer. I'm bringing the family this time it will be a first camping trip for the 3 year olds, Don't worry they are very well behaved and I'm not just saying that cause there mine

We might want to see about updating the title of this thread.

While we are at it, I've asked Mike Schneider to rename the thread "Salamonie Gathering near Huntington, IN"
:applause:
As we continue to gather information, please refer to the "Salamonie Gathering".

It should show up with the changed name soon.

Lucky, the camp ground info says 50 amp are these sites. I hope they have either 30 amp plugs or regular household plugs for electricity also.
