PVC Water storage tanks?

Anything to do with mechanical, construction etc

Up here, water coming in from the main is ususally 3/4 to 1". Inside the house it reduces to 3/4 or 1/2" so a 4" pipe is not commanly used. So HD would not stock it.

OK, now this is bugging me. i'm gonna look at Menard's & Home Depot tommorrow, i'm beginning to wonder why i see so much 3" and 4" in the factory? i've seen it before in the store... is everyone sure it's not dual listed? dwv & pw?

I'll post more after i inspect home depot here in wisconsin... i'm just stumped...

tk

Just a guess here but maybe it's because the only people who use the big stuff are the water companies/city who install the water mains. I've seen it laying around before the bury it. It is easily distinguishable because there are end caps installed on them to keep dirt and critters out.

...a lotta hardware and box stores do not stock the larger sized pipe rated for potable water since it is used primarily by contractors working on mains...it may havvta be bought at a plumbing supply house..........
