My brother has one. He upgraded from a Palm Pilot and separate phone to the Treo. He sort of loves it. I don't know if it is better than the Blackberry but he already had the Palm and importing the data was very convenient. Besides I got his old Palm. :D

The Blackberry was another option and I went away from it because no camera or touch screen...I have fat fingers and was having a hard time with the Berry.

Absolutely love mine -- Verizon.

BUT

I've had Palm OS since the very beginning of Palm when Palm was Palm. It does it for me. Probably had at least one of every one they ever made.

AND

When I retire I'm gonna sling the whole thing as hard as my rotator cuff will allow me -- Across the creek into never never again land 8)

AND OH. Never had experience with the Blackberry.

Geron,

You do not want to sling it - you want to delete all your calendar entries so that you can use it to plan all the gatherings you will be attending while you are voluntarily unemployed 8)

If you must destroy explosives are always more entertaining

Good idea, explosives 8)

Yeah, probably just reprogram it if it still works. Couple years is about all the service I can get out of one of these things. Be totally outdated and in need of upgrade in 42 weeks 4 day 20 hours 20 minutes and 37 seconds.

I was just looking at the GPS thread and recalled my brother has a GPS for his Treo. It is Tom-tom and seems to work very well. As an extra Tom-tom lets you change the voice speaking to you. He has a nice Brit female that tells him to proceed down the motor way. I have encouraged him to spend the extra bucks for a Sean Connery style voice for his wife to use. :) :)

I've got the Cingular version, the Treo 750. I like it quite a bunch. Comes in quite handy when I need to check on Angels scores (still in first place), snap a quick picture, text someone, take a look at my schedule for the week, listen to music or german lessons. And it even makes phone calls...

I don't need one either...just a fun looking toy. I am a Stay at Home Dad and not on that hectic of a schedule....dance class....T-ball....pre-school....kindergarden....pretty much the same every week.

I do still have my 45rpm and records!

Heck, I just wear mine so all the yuppies will point at it and ask

"Is that a palm 755??"

\I just grin and say "yeah" 8)

Nope, the thing has coverd my rear many a time with "reminders" of meeting I would have otherwise missed. On second thought maybe I could have missed them
