Bob:

Good Idea for the Texas area weather.
I am sure your wife will appreciate your efforts.

I finally got the AC and the trim around it installed. Now to rebuild the inside storage compartment around the AC. Wish I had done all this at the beginning.

But ... your smoking now.... and in no time you both will be in comfort with
new storage built around the wonderful A/C while you camp in heat of Texas.

Your advice would be then ... for anyone building. Make plans for A/C even
if you don't think you need it uP front? Cause down the line A/C will most
likely make for a more comfortable camping experience.

That's it, plan ahead. If you don't you will spend a lot of time rebuilding. If you can't take the heat you will be glade you installed an A/C during your build. We have missed out on a lot of summer camping because Judith get's sick if she stays outside in the heat too long. I'm hopeing this A/C will solve that problem.

That was the only place I could put it. If that window had been 2" lower I could not have installed it. I got lucky on this one.

Now for some trim on the boxes. A 2" raised floor between the boxes and a board to fit at the top to cover the A/C when not in use.

When traveling, camping items will be stored inside and on top of the boxes

While camping the lid will go up and we can use the A/C

Next item to do is lay linoleum on the floor.

Thanks neal, When it stops raining we are going camping. Then I'll give that A/C a real test.

This is what our storage box looks like when we go camping.

On the left is a AM/FM clock radio. Behind the radio is a small fluorescent light that can be remotely controlled. Next is our backup light in the event of no power. The little walmart box fan, puts out a lot of air. And then our little battery AM/FM radio. And last on the right a ceramic heater, really puts out the heat.

Below all that is our Mancala game board. For those who want to know what that is. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mancala#Equipment
