I Really Liked What Vick Had To Say...

Postby Dean in Eureka, CA » Mon Aug 27, 2007 11:13 am

I feel that he spoke from the heart, takes full responsibilty for his actions and made this former Mike Vick fan a fan once again.
I really liked what he had to say to the kids out there and that he'd redeem himself one day.
I forgive him...

He is just back peddling now. He was hanging and drowning the dogs that couldn't perform. He isn't a stable person or a role model I would let around my kids ever. Hell...I feel guilty when I run over a squirrel or a bird. You have to be a cold-hearted SOB to do what he did. He only feels bad because he got caught.

I've got nothing but disgust and disdain for Vick, regardless of what he has to say...as far as I am concerned, they should treat him like one of his underperforming dogs...his main concern right now is the 120million bucks(and jail time) in salary alone that he is going to lose out on...like Pete Rose was in baseball, he should never be allowed to associate with pro ball again.........

Here is a quote from a guy named Goodman...he is with the U.S. Humane Society.

"Some of the grisly details in these filings shocked even me, and I'm a person who faces this stuff every day," Goodwin said. "I was surprised to see that they were killing dogs by hanging them, and one dog was killed by slamming it to the ground. Those are extremely violent methods of execution — they're unnecessary and just sick."

The fighting was bad enough, but this is just disturbing! :(

Weak apology

Seems he tried to apologize but like many high profile people
only after he gets caught and of course he is finding God NOW....
to help him get through~

As a dog lover... I find his apology hollow ... cause if he didn't get caught
how many more dogs would have been murdered in this wayImage He didn't feel bad ... at killing dogs ~
As it is now he only feels bad cause he got caught, just like all the other celebs that get caught ~

and you murdered dogs.
Shame on you.

I'm in no way condoning his actions, he's gonna serve prison time and give up money because of this.
Yes he lied face to face with the comisioner, team owner and others but he came clean by pleading guilty and for that I admire him for taking the first step of many to come to make amends for his wrongs. He said he's going to redeem himself, adding that he has too.... I feel that he was sincere. I wish him the best.
BTW- I feel my stance on Vick is going to be unpopular, but just for the record... I'm an animal lover too. Two of my three animals left the ex's house on their own accord and moved across the street to be with me, so I guess it could be said that I'm loved by animals as well...

I don't believe MV got his hands dirty. I do believe he willingly/ knowingly financed the operation for his friends/ relatives. I do believe he sould serve time, as much as possible. I believe he is taking the bigger hit becasue he has the bigger name. I think the DA should have gone after the other "kennels" when working on plea bargins. I believe MV is just a money man and they should have gotten the names and locations of other "big" guys before they settled all the plea bargains.

You live across the street from your ex??? :o
Shoot... My ex wouldn't speak to me for 15 years... Of course, all my bud's said I was blessed!
Funny thing is, now after 17 years, we are friends again. Time changes a lot of things.

If anybody can look at that and NOT have a lump in their throat they are not human....let alone finance and support something like that. It is called lack of compassion. If I thought that Vick was sorry for what he did and not just because he got caught and lost a lot of money I may feel different, but how could you watch something like that and think it is okay. I know I couldn't and I have seen some pretty sick stuff.

How many here would want this guy as a friend? Even let him remotely close to your family or children. I can't wish him the best of luck or even feel a little sorry for him. There is only a couple lower forms of life than him.

How many more dogs would of been killed if they would of caught him when they did? HE LIKED/LOVED WHAT HE WAS DOING WITH THE DOGS UNTIL HE GOT CAUGHT...THAT IS WHY HE BACKED IT.

If it had been in my jurisdiction Vick or whoever would be going away for the felony counts of cruelty to animals. Vick is a money maker and everyone wants him back doing what he does best, so the spin doctors are hard at work. He should never be allowed to touch another sport and should disappear from media sight, for the sake of our children. That sets a good example to our children. In my job I have to humanely put dogs and cats to sleep, due in large part to people like Vick. A very clear message has to be sent to all people that these actions will not be tolerated. Beside letting himself and his family down, he let all his fans, friends, NFL and more importantly all the children that looked up to him. I wonder if he was feeling remorseful when he strangled, hung, electrocuted, or drowned the dogs. If we were talking about a speeding ticket I might pause to think, we're not!
Obviously I am pasionate about this, in no way am I being critical of anyone on this forum, only to Vick :x

I ain't kidding, but I almost went off the road this morning (just a regular street, not a highway going fast or anything) for trying to avert running over a frog. And it's one of these frogs we have down here that dogs lick and die, and kids lick to get high. (Mufaso something.)

It's not in my nature either to ever hurt ANY animal, but maybe that's just not in HIS nature and upbringing.

But does that make you a criminal?
Here we go again!
