"I personally believe that U.S. Americans are unable to do so because, uh, some people out there in our nation don't have maps, and, uh, I believe that our education like such as in South Africa and, uh, the Iraq everywhere like, such as and I believe that they should, our education over here in the U.S. should help the U.S., er, should help South Africa and should help the Iraq and the Asian countries, so we will be able to build up our future for our children."

I saw that clip earlier, she makes South Carolina proud. Especially since the contestants have the questions beforehand. They just don't know which question they will get.

Makes you real proud of the American education system. I also saw the clip and actually felt bad for the girl. If it had been a question on how to smear on make-up, she would have sounded intelligent, but geography ????? :?

You know, I did too. Stopped the clip about half way through. Me, I've done and said things just as incoherent (and in public, too). But, She is Purty to look at! At least I had the chance to back paddle and restate AND I wasn't on National TV.

In case you only read her printed answer, here is the question she was asked.

"Recent polls have shown a fifth of Americans can't locate the United States on a world map. Why do you think this is?"

She's also probably one of the 'fifth' that can't locate the USA on a map

But don't forget your map. There is an apparent map shortage in the U.S. and you may not find your way home

 8) Now do you suppose the girl is so nervous she forgot the question?

Have some sympathy, the poor girl has Brittany Spears for a role model.

Well, I think she and, uh, the others that sometimes, you know, in Africa and Iran, but in the future we should, um, educate, but if we tax and more money for students, I mean teachers, in our country we could make maps that don't, well, in most cases find colors that hurt the eyes and someone could wake me up to everything and don't let the terrorists win or they will come take our maps and we could all make it a better place.
Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).

Just when you think a problem is solved, an uglier result replaces it.

The consensus around here is she'll marry the Cowboys quarterback (in 2012) or appear in a mens magazine and live with the founder.
