Mine? Or another answer here defending this scumbag of a so-called American patriot?
Uh oh. Dissin' John Wayne. Don't ya know your only supposed to diss' the liberal actors, like Sean Penn.
That was a joke, BTW, so nobody reach for your guns.
I find this whole topic amusing. With all the problems we face in America, how does "press one for English" even show up on the radar screen.
On the other side of the coin, I get a chuckle out of the folks who give a s--t whether or not "under God" is in the pledge of allegance. Like Lewis Black says, "if it bothers you, just say 'under dog' instead -- it sounds the same and has the same number of sylables, so you'll finish with everyone else."
Same with prayers at sporting events. If religious people really want to pray for a football game, fine. I just stand quietly and wait for them to finish praying that nobody gets hurt playing a game where hitting each other as hard as you can is central to the game, and then I watch the game.
I could list all kinds of ways people get bent out of shape over things that pale in comparison to all the people dying today in wars, and the hundreds of thousands of children that will DIE this year in Africa due to common diarreah simply because they don't have clean water to drink, or the very real challeges that we face with global warming, and a dozen other life-and-death issues that we ignore while we fight over "press one for English" and other trivial peeves.
