Question about sides

Postby Jstroke » Thu Aug 30, 2007 10:18 am

So, I have my profile cutout and I am ready to take the sides down to cut the doors and the 3/8 inch cut for the hatch. I have 3/8" plywood and am planning a frame wall. Should I still make this cut per the Generic Benroy Instructions?

I am assuming that this is to allow space for the hatch seal. Is that a correct assumption?

I have a friend who is constantly telling me not to think on my own. So I am looking to those of you who have been there before for help.

Thanks
Jstroke

Hatch seal

Postby tearbum67 » Thu Aug 30, 2007 12:06 pm

Jstroke. Im a first time builder as well but maybe my 2 cents couldnt hurt. Yes you will need that 3/8" cut to recieve the 1/4" plywood hatch skin and seal. This very subject had me scratching my head awhile back as well. I hope I was of some help.

Yep, that notch is for the hatch seal. Go ahead and cut it out.
