I voted the Dodge Dakota cause I think its purty. Couldn't afford it but wanted it.

Honda Ridgeline (rated best by CR)
If the last car in the world was a honda, I would walk. They work good for a long time, but then something breaks and parts are more expensive than a da** jaguar.
Toyota Tacoma
I do not know much about these.
Dodge Dakota
I own one these (1989 convertible, yes pu). New they do not get the mileage the GM product does. A couple of years ago I looked at these and the mileage sticker had the v8 getting about one mile to the gallon better than the v6.
Chevy Colorado
I drove one these. What I liked mileage, and power (not a hot rod). What I did not like, how it rode, and the extra short bed (no long bed option with the four door). Not an improvement over the s10 in my opinion, and I tend to prefer GM (and subaru).

I went with the majority vote and got the Tacoma. Double cab, long bed, 4.0 V-6 and auto tranny.

When it comes down to choosing an offroad capable vehicle I always get one that can truly do any kind of offroading. I choose and owe 2 Pinzgauer 712.

Otherwise I have a Mercedes E320 CDI station wagon - which by the way is just as wide as my Pinzgauer and only 3 cm less long.

it's a little late for this but a friend of mine is a mechanic at the honda shop in town and out of all the ridgelines that they have sold since they were introduced he has been the only one in the shop to work on the ONE ridgeline that came back for a non-scheduled service. and that was for a seal that was leaking. it has not been back since except for oil changes. This will be my wifes next vehicle when we sell the van.

Nice truck Jim. We have an 89 and it is still running strong with 220,000 miles on it. Original clutch, starter, radiator, water pump and not even a complete brake job. It's really been a remarkable truck. Had a Tundra too but it was totaled. Wanted a Mac Truck after the accident but settled for the Dodge as Tundra just didn't feel big enough if know what I mean. Tundra held up really well as was broadsided by another truck going approx 50 mph. Feel pretty lucky to be here to talk about it. Hope you have as good of luck with yours as we have. Enjoy Patty

Thanks Patty. I know a lot of people with Toyotas with a lot of miles on them with no problems. My problem is I never keep a car that long. It's kinda fun to get a new rig. See you guys in the spring.
