double axle tear, did I see one here?

Postby Airspeed » Tue Sep 04, 2007 1:14 pm

I am really contemplating building another tear and am looking for ideas.
Did I see a two axle teardrop on this site? I saw one somewhere and thought it looked cool and wanted to take another look before I start planning. Thanks if anyone can remind me where I saw it! Aaron

Aaron, you may be looking for this one. Jdarkoregon has it in his album. Danny

Thanks, I think those are a neat look! I just might have to do it. The second axle would serve no purpose other than looking cool but cool is what a tear is! Thanks!! Aaron

I think the second axle takes away any 'cool' any of those trailers might have once held . . . . unless of course their 'tow vehicle' is a HumVee, in which case they probably need the second axle just to keep the neighbors from lauging

At one point there was a thread where this came up, earlier I tried searching for it, but came up with too many hits to find it. I searched for "tandem axle". One of the tears in the thread had a hot tub.

Lots of used tandem boat trailers available here...Cheap, and although not apparently popular for TD would provide a stable platform for the Larger TTT's... These boat trailers are much more sturdy/heavy than the common HF trailer...some even cheaper too , since the boats were blown away....

Hey guys,

Take it easy on the tandem axle talk... or I'll have to pitch my design and build a Tandem version...

A 10' kampster profile with tandem axles and 8" tires, no hot tub.
