Gage, you don't have to drive to a farmer's market to get fresh beans. There's a farm stand on the left coming into Los Osos where you can get beans and veggies picked that day. They have a flag next to their sign telling what's fresh. It doesn't look like much from the road, LOVR, but it's a really nice little farm.

OK, I'll bring the sharpies and cardboard. Couldn't be simpler. :)

BTW, Gage, are you the new Big Dog from S. Cal Tear Jerkers?

We're puppies put'n on a little (well it started out that way) seaside gathering and surprised by the attention from BDs.

Another question. Do most people bring their own plates and silverware to the pot luck? Or would paper plates and plastic "silverware" be helpful/expected?

Looks as if there is going to be around 50 to 60 people just from what I counted on the list (on page 1) as long as everyone shows, some of the names only list one person which some of them are probably 2 people.

You did real good Steve this should turn out to be a real fun & enjoyable gettogether.

P.S If you would like me to bring a dry erase board & magnet combo board it is aprox.2'X3' it would also make a good message board. I could put it in my TD in the morning. if you would like to use it let me know.
I would bring markers & magnets for the board also.

Ken, thanks for the offer to bring your dry erase board. Please bring it. A message board would be a real good idea. We could use a couple of them.

More people are coming for the Saturday pot luck dinner than you would count on the page 1 RSVP list. It wouldn't overly surprise me if it's dozens more. Some of us who live nearby have invited friends and family to tent camp with us or come visit for the day. Some people traveling farther will bring kids or friends, too.

Let's see. I have a friend coming. My Mom. Several neighbors will visit. One has a Scotty TT (sp?) she'll bring out for the day. Guys from the muffler shop who installed my hitch may visit. The couple who are lending me their trailer. Then there's a local guy who heard about the gathering from someone else in Morro Bay. He called me at home to see if I have space for him and his homebuilt 12' TD. He'll bring his wife by. Chris and Dan have friends and family coming. We've been pretty quiet about the gathering, except on this discussion board, and still the word is spreading.

Which leads me to ask if anyone coming has a table you can bring, please bring it. There won't be enough picnic tables we can use in the campground to seat everyone for the pot luck. Bring folding chairs too. Maybe a little firewood.

Nope, everyone brings their own, else they eat out of their hands. Except for the camp host (MDO S.P.). We provide everything they may need. They will be our guest.

Does the camp host sell fire wood ?
Alot of times the host sells wood cheaper than I can buy wood here in LV, or is there a home depot nerebye ? This would save me from loading it up here.
Well I better get loading up only a couple days left, usually I just hook up the TD & point the car north south east or west & I end up were ever I end up, I usually do not plan my trips. we've found this to be the best way to travel.
See ya all soon.

Chris M. "Italia" and I will be BBQing tri tip steaks Friday to feed as many people as we can. Randy and Cyndie Mac have a wood fired Cowboy BBQ pit that they've offered to share with us so come gather around on Friday.

Great, I'll get creative with something. Lots of great things at the Farmer's Market to choose from.

See you there.

FARMERS’ MARKET Los Osos
This outdoor market, offering local, in-season farm fresh produce and locally
grown flowers is held in Baywood Park, on Santa Maria Avenue between 2nd & 3rd Streets.

Farmers' Market is open year-round every Monday — 2:00 - 5:00 pm.

This exact market may not be useful because of the Monday open only?

So this farm stand that Steve talks about most likely will be the best choice for fruits and veggies?

The Morro Bay and San Luis Obispo Farmer's Markets both happen on Thursdays and would be handy and fun places to buy fresh fruits and veggies. The Morro Bay market is held in the early afternoon and the SLO one follows it it the evening. The SLO market is bigger, more of a social event, and has over a dozen BBQs and hot food booths.

There's a Saturday morning SLO Farmer's Market in SLO , too, next to Gottschalks Dept. Store off Madonna Road from 8AM - 10AM.

I'll make note of the roadside farm stand outside Los Osos so folks can more easily find it. There are several of them.

Fire Wood. The camp host has some she sells. My request was for anyone who could do it easily to bring a little bit of firewood for a group fire pit...kind of a many hands make light work of bringing firewood.

AAA Auto Club Maps. If you're a member of the Auto Club they have a location one block away from Hwy. 101, at the Exit 200 turn off. It's a good place to get "free" local maps and info.

Most everyone just sits and eats in their folding chair...tables aren't that necessary except for DO. serving tables. Doug

If anyone on the RSVP is considering coming Wednesday, please feel free to do it. Chris and Lana are working together to save prime spaces for Joanne, Matt and others.

Camping prices go down on Saturday (from $15 to $11/day). Chris may need to pay to save some prime spaces starting Wednesday. So with everyone's permission who's coming we can even it out by still paying Lana $15/day to compensate Chris. OK?

Chris asked if someone with a full size pickup truck can do a favor for Lana. Lana has a golf cart at Morro Bay State Park she'd like to move to Montana de Oro Friday.

Chris is a a great gal! She and Lana are smoothing out wrinkles to help make this a great gathering. Girlz Rule! :applause:

Steve,
I'm not trying to stir up trouble just looking for some clarification. I know that I arranged an extra day off so I could get there early enough to get a decent site. now your telling us that the "prime spaces" are being locked up for "others". Don't get me wrong, I appreciate all you've done but shouldn't first come first served apply here?

Looking forward to the weekend and hanging with everyone.
George

Bad idea but your the man in charge. Even though it doesn't start until Thursday, who cares if we come in Wednesday (or earlier). But beings how your saving spots. I'm handicap and need a space close to the john because I haven't got my scooter yet. (Hey Bill, did you bring your scooter?)
