General Discussion about almost anything Teardrop or camping related

Sandman,

I have certainly been following your td adventure.............from the frustration of your build, to the decision to buy, then I was excited for you when you posted about removing the decals for ones to match your bike, and then the sad post about the leaks and damage you found.

So glad to hear you are getting an 08!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And enjoy your visit to Canton!

I'm glad to hear things worked out.

I have a 2006 LittleGuy, and have used it in the rain with no leaks. I am now a bit concerned about the undercoating. I may do an extra coating just to be safe.

LittleGuy did the smart thing, here. I imagine this thread had some influence, but they could have ignored it.

My own dealings with LittleGuy after-the-sale have been pretty good, too. I have not had any "issues" with mine, but they have been prompt in responding to questions I had as I was modifying my TD to my personal tastes.

I wouldn't mind knowing exactly what was wrong with the 2005-2006 model -- and was it just the Sport model. That would help me do some inspecting and preventative measures on mine, if needed.

Awesome news!! I am so glad that Little Guy decided to stand by their products and make the situation right!! I was ready to tell everyone to never buy a Little Guy teardrop trailer!! Sounds like a bunch of the great folks here on the forum helped to persuade them to make it right. Congrats on getting the new '08 Sport!!

Sandman, this is fantastic news and certainly Little Guy is to be commended for taking swift action(apparently). I would hope they check with their dealers about other products sitting out there that could possibly have similar damage, so that other prospective buyers will not havvta face the same problem...a problem that Little Guy, should have ALREADY taken care of....

Sandman,
I am SO Happy that it has worked out for you. WOW!! An 08 Sport?!? SWEET! :bounce:

Little Guy, if you are reading, BRAVO!! :applause: :applause: :applause:

Teardrop campers are a an enduring American pastime that is making a HUGE comeback. For the folks without the means to build their own, it is good to know a manufacturer, like Little Guy, is making Teardrops available across the country and the world.

Yep, Little Guy has astounded my wife and I with their quick resolution. Now, for all you guys that own or thinking about owning an 05 or 06 model, let me just clarify that NOT ALL Little Guys made in 05 and 06 are definately going to leak. They only had a small minute few that leaked. As Justin told me, just a few from those model years leaked but they found out the cause and corrected. One of the issues he told me was due to the angle at which they drove in staples into the spars which inadvertently went through the floor. They have addressed and corrected this issue after checking out a few models. There was never any poor quality materials used...it was just a manufacturing procedure. They are going to do some R & D on my 05 to verify just where the leaking occurred. Chris sent me pics of my new Sport so without further adieu, here's the new Sport:

Congratulations on the resolution.

And congratulations to Little Guy for doing what every business and manufacturer should be willing to do to keep a customer happy--stand behind their product and fix or replace when defective.

:applause:  :applause:  :applause:
Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).

Just when you think a problem is solved, an uglier result replaces it.

Well... Congratulations Sandman... That is great news indeed. :applause:

I am glad Little Guy did the right thing by you. I commend Little Guy for doing what every business and manufacturer should do to keep a customer happy, fix the problem pronto. It sure looks like the perfect teardrop for you and your off-road bike hobby. I agree with Madjack, They should bite the bullet and aggressively check out All the unsold inventory for potential problems and fix them as well. I know it will cost them big bucks to do a recall of hundreds of trailers they have sold... But it would be a smart move if they want to stay in the business, to contact all the current owners of the suspected models and offer to fix any leaking problems for free as well.

Happy camping Sandman, and I hope I get to meet you at a gathering sometime. And, good luck to you! It's about time you had some.
