Floor finishing question

I've seen various materials used to finish the floor in people's teardrops, ranging from vinyl flooring to ceramic tiles to parquet. However, most of the floor will never be seen, since it is covered by the mattress or the galley cabinets. It seems that one could save the flooring for the 6" or so at the end of the galley and simply sand and seal the rest.

Beyond the satisfaction of knowing its there, is there anything to be gained by covering the entire floor?

Nope! You can paint the floor or in some other way waterproof it and anything else is extra. Do remember that you will need to clean it every now and again, so easy clean is good.

I carpeted the entire floor. My thoughts were it will help with the cold coming up, as I have no insulation in the floor only the walls and ceiling.

To me the easiest way to cover the floor is plam since I always have scraps. PM me if your interested in a couple scraps that would cover your floor, I'm in the South Sound, Danny

My epithany came last saturday! I'm getting rid of my wheel well lumps.
2 layers of 3/4 dow blue foam levels everything out to the factory HF fenders. I will then use spray foam around the fenders to stop all water and road spray and a layer of 1/2 osb over all. I will then utilize a left over box of pergo laminate flooring in the areas that are clearly seem only and simply paint to seal the osb under the matress area.
