Scrabble Letters

Postby Lynn Coleman » Sun Sep 16, 2007 3:15 am

Hi all,

This may sound like an odd request but I'm wondering if anyone has any old scrabble board games with missing tiles. What I'm wondering is if you might be willing to give them to me.

If I can get enough tiles, I'm hoping to build a curtain for the closet, sort of like a wood bead curtain.

If you can help me out, send me a PM and I'll send you my snail mail address.

I've played for 16 years with the same board, and it never even occurred to me that I COULD be missing tiles.

I wish I would lose that dang "X" though.
Here we go again!

Gee Steve,
Sounds like you might want to get rid of that set and get a new one.

Hmmmm, Lynn, I can relate to your perspective on the matter of the missing 'J", on the other hand. It is still possible to play without it. Did you know you can get a couple hundred scrabble tiles on ebay for about 5 bucks? and....after you do, can I have a "J"? 8)

Yeah, I've been scoping out ebay. But I'm figuring I'm going to be needing a thousand tiles.

I tell you what, I'll try to have a J for you at the Nov. gathering.

BTW- That's a real good idea to go along with your theme!

That's gonna be a lot of drilling little holes too.

Lynn What a great idea! I dont have any letters but I will keep an eye out. I am always going to yard sales and thrift store.

Read about 1/3 of the book. I am impressed. You are very good. It is nice to read a story that is "clean". very refreshing. My church book club is meeting Thursday night and I cant wait to show them your book. I know they will be excited to read it.

Hi Eunice,

Sorry for the slow response, I was away last week and had to bring my computer into the shop today. While i was there I bought another so I'm back online.

Anyway, how did your church boo club go last week? Tell them, I'd love to hear what they thought about my story. I'm hoping you've been able to finish it, let me know.

As for scrabble lettrs I'll be checking yardsales. Ebay has some but the cost is too high with shipping and the amount I'll be needing for the curtains.

Hey Peg,

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm currently working on Jess's story, the third book in the series. But I'm at a strange place in the story. I need a new twist, I love messing with their lives. Right at the moment they are starting to get together, so I've got to allow but provent it from happening right now.

I might just go away for a day or two just two reevaluate how their relationship is developing.

Oh well that's more than you wanted to know, I'm sure. But I do work and rework until I'm happy with it. Or at least content.

Hey Lynn,
Have you tried freecycle.org for Scrabble tiles (or teardrop parts for that matter)?

"The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift." - Albert Einstein
