The way I came with the name windsong, was after watching my Father-in-Law meticulously design build and fly his homemade wooden airplane over a 10 year period. He called it the woodsong during construction. then after completion he renamed it Franklin Woodsey. He was also a great help whenever advice was needed. He is greatly appreciated and admired. His favorite saying was you don't want to build a lead sled.
He is 77 years young!

PS I work for Windstream but that had no bearing on the name Windsong!

I thought of using the name: "Sooper Stupid" for actually getting into the project but settled on "The Lake Hallie Comet" instead.
Sorta shaped like a comet in flight and the actual comet's name is pronounced Hal-lee and not Hay-lee like most people think. Besides, that's where I live - no not on a comet....

NAME CHANGE

Postby Rem » Mon Jul 23, 2007 8:02 pm

Jubilee has been changed to American Dreamer. Now that I am retired, my wife and I can chase our dreams and these little trailers are the means to support that chase. We have a second trailer started called the Black Pearl. Its ultralight and a Bare Bones type trailer ,12 volt only. Third trailer not yet started will be called Nemos' Folly. Themes , can you guess? The first is like unto the space shuttle
No 2, Pirates of the Carribean of course
The 3rd styled like a submarine "20,000 leagues under the sea"

Name that teardrop

Postby 49er Teardrop » Thu Jul 26, 2007 9:22 pm

I am a home brewer and since I plan on taking the teardrop to upcoming brewing functions (many of which you would NOT want to drive home afterward)... the name is BEERDROP! --49er Vic

hi!
we were driving over to missouri teardrops last sunday to see what dana had on sale. the name "guppy" just came to me. the vintage 1978 airstream 31' we have been working on is so ridiculously large to me it looks like a whale. a teardrop looks like a guppy in comparison.

we were supposed to go full time and live "on the road" which is why we bought the AS just when we had the materials to build a teardrop.

but... stuff happens...

"The Leafy Bug"

When building mine and applying some poly a leaf landed on the poly. I was just sealing some wood that would not be seen and so I left it there. My son saw the leaf and named my TD.

Mine's the "Silver Bullet" because of the length (12') compared to the width (4.5') and the obvious color of aluminum. I've been toyin' with the idea of a werewolf logo........... Naw...maybe not
