Building Questions

Postby sleepercatcher » Fri Sep 21, 2007 6:55 am

R2G,
I like the looks of the trailer. I'm located near Chattanooga where a teardrop without windows would be like a toaster oven. Where did you get your trailer and your plans for building? How long did you plan before starting and do you have any idea of the cost? I'm looking at the HF 4'x 8' trailer and using construction similar to "Nobody's Tear".

Building answers

Sleepercatcher,
Thank you for the questions. The frame is from Tractor Supply. A floorless 4x8.
I planned and watched the forum for ideas for 6 months before starting. I drew up all my plans and tried to build in my head before starting. I will tally up the cost in the next few days.
I will look foward to following your build in the near future.

r2go,

Your build is looking good! Great work! :applause: :applause:

My question: From the upload dates of your pictures, I estimated that you took just over a month to build the trailer! Is that possible?? If so, you must have broken the record on this forum for a fast build! Anyhow, my second question, how many hours do you estimate did it take you?

Keep moving forward.

Window Brace as Miriam mentioned.
Very good job on your build. I also like the windows for extra light and ventilation.

I started a new topic in General Discussion about Rarin' 2 Go.
We took our first trip last weekend.
The big windows are working out just fine, lots of light and air.
Yes, window braces worked out fine as well. Barb and Miriam I thank you.
I did not keep track of the time of the build but I started on August 1st. so about seven weeks was taken to get this far.
