Hey folks thanks. Cutting that door out was exiting and frightening all at the same time.

Today I sealed the front floor to the walls.

Almost time for goo.

Thanks Sam. Other than cutting out the door the blog is caught up. Now what will I do when I drink my coffee in the morning?

Black goo will not show up in darkness, so please understand no pics tonight. Rolled on its left side I got all that is possible. Tomorrow I need to spray undercoating in the hard to reach spaces in the nose, and role the body onto the other side, and goo again.

I was sweating bullets when I cut it, but I am fine now. Two big hurdles before its debut, mounting the door, and the hatch. I am thinking thanksgiving.

Del, you may have answered this before and I didnt see it. How are you going to hing the door with that amount of curve? Seems like it may be better to hinge it at the top with a set of gas shocks off a minivan hatch or somthing to hold it up and put the latch at the bottom (gull wing style). Looks really good  , cant wait to see it finished.

I think a gull wing door would be cool, but the using it part scares me, most how to close it once I am inside. That being said I built a interior hinge for it (head banger variety per Andrew). Pics coming soon. Yes it will open like a normal door.

I think a split gull wing door like a jet door. Half of it lifts up, and the bottom half folds down as steps. It would be difficult to do, but your build looks pretty difficult already.

Painted the last coat of goo (I hope) on the bottom. I did realize I forgot something important, how to get the wires in the body. drilling and sealing another hole are in order. While the goo dried I worked on wiring. Finished the frame wiring, and now I need a DONE stamp for my frame.
