Hey we made the list..... Sort of, not really in Austin but on it's border. A lot of those places are nice but I'd never live anywhere where it snow stays on the ground for more than a week.

What--no Coral Springs?

Actually, I worked for an economic development magazine here in Florida, and when it comes to the state-by-state, community-by-community rankings of LIFESTYLE factors published in magazines, it's all BS:

It mostlyhas to do with the advertising dollars they can attract from that region's economic development's organization. Buy a 4-page insert and you're number one.

Pittsburgh was once #1 on Forbes list, and the following year, they were like #50. (I'm making up this disparity, but you get the idea.)

Rankings for the best places to own a business are a different story, and states like North Carolina and South Carolina have topped those lists for years.

If you're into processing plastics, West Virgina is tops--because they don't care WHAT the hell you pump into those streams.
