I didn't lose my cool at the end -- I just didn't see any point in continuing to try to be a voice of reason in a thread that was already well off the rails.

That is when I would of stopped opening or posting on the thread, but that is just me!

SFC Hall wasn't that concerned about the derailing and he was the one that started it.

The thing to do if you don't like a thread is to move on. Caseydog, censorship is not the voice of reason in most cases. Insisting a thread you did not start be closed is censorship in it's worst form.

Those who have an interest in this thread and keeping it going---enjoy. Those who don't ---start your own or read something else but please don't infringe on others.

I've gotten a few PM's from folks that seem to imply that I took an otherwise meaningful discussion downhill.

As hard as I tried to be the voice of reason and compromise early on in this thread, the hard-liners managed to drown out reason and compromise, as usual. So what the heck -- if you can't beat 'em, join 'em.
