Lurking for 6 Months

Postby Sadie » Sun Jul 29, 2007 7:51 pm

I've been lurking on this site for 6 months reading and stealing ideas thanks to all those people who have posted their ideas. For various reasons a Teardrop wasn't quite what I was looking for at the moment although I would still like to built an ultra lite to go behind my small car, there so darn cute and practical.
I have a problem backing up in the off road exploring I like to do so a small pop top camper for my 4x4 was the result with the roof inspired by the Compact design, its ready for camping although it needs some finishing inside. I've posted the results on this web page

http://trustbreaker.freehostia.com/home ... camper.htm

I'm pleased with the results it's a small go just about anywhere rig, but as usual there are a few things I would do different next time.

Welcome, Colin. That's a pretty neat truck camper you have! Nice design. Maybe you could combine the pop up top idea with a teardrop, and have a tear you could stand up in!

Hello Colin/Sadie!

Neat looking popup! If I had a pickup... a popup would be my first choice... but now I'm committed to a teardrop and over half done (I think). Got the left side inside wall panel installed today.) Hope to see you at a campout! All the best! --Vic

Colin, wow, that is a great idea. I wish I would have thought of that, when I had a pickup. Looks like you have all of the hard stuff ironed out, and I'm sure there must be some sort of screw-jack that you can adapt to raise it into position. Do post more pics when you have it finished.

Roly, enjoying seeing products that are the result of thinking out of the box.
