2-gang switches

I had problems finding 2-gang switches for my dome and porch lights to put in my Cubby build. So, I went to Wally World and purchased 4 Rocker switches and used some spare aluminum (.032) and make plates for them (or I made one prototype for now). The prototype is not perfect, but I was in a hurry to get it mocked up, the final will be done very percisely (I hope and plan). Just wanted to share an idea and hope someone else can use it.

I got my lighted rockers from the local auto parts store then made my switch plate with a graphics program and printed onto photo paper. Then covered with laminating film to protect and mounted it on a piece of 1/8" Masonite. It's next to the pillow and kind of handy.

That looks great! Thansk for the idea, I will print out the labels and glue them to the aluminum. Maybe a coat of polyurethene and they should be good as gold. I was going to paint them black to match the rocker switches. Seems all the auto parts stores only carry the ones that have LEDs in them and I did not want the little light all night long.

Hey Kerry,

It turned out great. I used the rockers with the lighted led's but they are too bright if just laying around listening to the radio at night. There's a terminal on the back that can be disconnected so I pulled the plug on my radio led.
