Posting Pics Side by Side?

Postby SkipperSue » Tue Sep 25, 2007 2:57 pm

I've often wondered how do you post pics side by side (if there is room to do so) as opposed to on top or below the other. I know it has to be something simple, just never have known how to do it that way.

Like in my post here at the bottom of this thread, I think it would have looked better if I could have had the pictures side by side.

Am I crazy for even thinking of such things? :R

I just figured that out the other day. Wanted to post the photo of my trailers and my TearJerkers chapter logo side by side.

It was easy, don't leave a space between the 2 photo posts.

Don't your pics have to be smaller then? Or will they resize to fit side by side????

Skip:

Space between pictures

If you need spacing between pic's use dots as in ... between the IMG tags.

Image ... Image ... Image

Code looks like this:Note:( * is an = sign in the real code)
[url*http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/JeffersonStateTearjerkers/]
[img]http://www.teardrops.us/userfiles/3/JeffersonStateChapter.gif[/img][/url] ... [img]http://tnttt.com/images/smiles/miriams.gif[/img] ... [img]http://www.tnttt.com/gallery/image.php?image_id=43796[/img]

New thought:

URL tag proper use
And while I am on the subject of code how about The URL tag proper use?

I have seen many make this mistake of thinking just because you are
posting an URL you have to use the URL tag uP toP. =
NO NOTA Never. Only use the URL tag uP top for hiding
the URL and using words or pictures so as to let the person using their
mouse click on the words or picture to go to the URL. If you want to just
put an URL on the forum so be it DON'T use the URL uP top.

I will give you four examples below
of how to use the URL tag above the post box:

First example:
USING words to point to a URL

Look @ Heikki's signature By clicking on these words in blue to jump there = Words only hot to URL
Code that is used: Note:( * is an = sign in the real code)
[url*http://tnttt.com/viewtopic.php?p=258033#258033]Look @ Heikki's signature
By clicking on these words in blue to jump there[/url]
***

Second example:
USING a PICTURE as the object to click on to go to an URL location:
Image = Picture only hot to URL

Code used in the above example: Note:( * is an = sign in the real code)
[url*http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/JeffersonStateTearjerkers/]
[img]http://www.teardrops.us/userfiles/3/JeffersonStateChapter.gif[/img][/url]
***

Third example:
USING a PICTURE & Words as the object to click on to go to an URL location:
Image
Come Join one of the newest Teardrop chapters of the Tearjerkers
= Words & Pic hot to URL

Code used in the above example: Note:( * is an = sign in the real code)
[url*http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/JeffersonStateTearjerkers/]
[img]http://www.teardrops.us/userfiles/3/JeffersonStateChapter.gif[/img]
Come Join one of the newest Teardrop chapters of the Tearjerkers[/url]
***

Fourth example:
USING nothing cause you just want to point to a URL alone
If you are posting a URL ONLY then NO URL tag is needed.
NO CODE USED to just put an URL on the forum.
So don't use [url]tags[/url]

John:

YES The pictures you use in the signature should be edited by
the USER to reflect a smaller image look at the examples of the Jefferson
state logo ... it has all sorts of sizes but Dean chose a smaller size for
signature.

YES For pictures side by side in the body of the forum
posts
; they too have to be of a scaled size to fit side by side. Or they
will Autojump like the above example of Len. His trailer picture is too large
to set side by side the other picture. It comes down to editing the pictures
for size and then trying them out taking into account the avatar sizing block of a post.

My-Definition: Autojump or Autowrap
Pictures will squeeze into the post and if they are too big to fit side by side
they will wrap around and post as if you had them one on top of each
other. The laws of the forum are defined space for posting so make sure
your pictures as small enough to fit side by side.
USE the preview button when you are testing your side by side picture use.

Yes. The simple rule is make sure the widths add up to something less than 800 if they're going in a normal message.

So it works like this?:

DON'T LOOK AT THIS!

(I told you not to look. Did it scare you?)

That is so cool. I wondered how y'all did that. Thanks.
Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).

Just when you think a problem is solved, an uglier result replaces it.
