Printing issues

Postby Micro469 » Thu Sep 27, 2007 8:36 pm

Whenever I try to print a page off of this forum, the right 1/4 of the page doesn't show up. So it only prints 2/3 of the page. Does anyone know how to fix this so that I can print the full width of the page?
I run win XP, and have an epson cx5800f printer.....

:?

John what browser are you using???

If you go to page setup you can choose to shrink to fit page. I find it easier to do a print preview and adjust my page settings from there.

You can also change your orientation to landscape instead of portrait

I want to see your high school math grade, because these numbers don't compute.

Like Rick said above, just switch to landscape and maybe adjust your margins. You could always 'select all' and then paste into a word processor and reformat the information.

This is another thing I've often wondered about myself. It's ok at home but here at work it would cut off the right side a bit. I called our IS department and had them change the resolution of the screen to a higher value and that fixed the problem. Alot of our computer functions are locked out from us. :x
The only downside to this fix is that if you have a small monitor you will have a hard time seeing everything.

I don't know the PC world--I'm Mac--but maybe it's the same with you guys:

Do your systems automatically utilize the correct printer driver for your specific printer every time? Or if you go to the print window, is there a pull-down that says something like "any printer" or "generic?"

If it's the latter, in your page set-up window, you have to look for your model of printer and not use a generic driver.

When you print, use the dropdown menu off of "file" in the upper right corner. Then the print option box will come up. Somewhere there is properties that you can choose. It may be under advanced options. But somewhere there is the choice of "fit to page" click that and the page should print correctly.

Text sizing issue:

Many fixes for small print.

This is called the Baby Boomer eye saver shuffle. 8)
This method is for those that wish a larger size print for the moment not permanent.
Skip, if you have a scroll mouse wheel this reading of type can be
resolved, by holding down the control Key "Ctrl" on the keyboard and scrolling the
wheel on your mouse to enlarge your print
.

Here is another for the temporary type fix.
Hold down the + or - keys on the number pad of the keyboard
and then click the Control key on "Ctrl" to adjust the size of your
print. or vise versa

Yet another fix of a more permanent basis:
Firefox & IE browser:
Another more permanent fix would be to go to the top of your browser
window and find the "View" click and find "Text size" and play
"A man who is good enough to shed his blood for his country
is good enough to be given a square deal afterwards." -------Theodore Roosevelt

This is nice to know. :)
It works on my computer at home but here at work it doesn't.
It must have a block or something on it to keep us from "messing" something up. :x
