Lynn,

Be sure and work something out...this will probably be the closest gathering to you and we all want to meet y'all.

Yes they do have cabins, a cinderblock house with beds and airconditioning. I think you are supposed to bring your own bedding.

And they are all relatively new.
Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).

Just when you think a problem is solved, an uglier result replaces it.

Hmmmm. I show the cabins as being booked. Is anyone else seeing different results?

Try calling the central reservation center in Austin @ 512-389-8900. Sometimes the info on reserve America is not correct for Texas State Parks.

Inks trip

Postby CASHCOW » Thu Oct 04, 2007 11:54 pm

well, it seems we wont be able to come to the November gathering afterall. :(
Thought we might be able to swing it with the time off, trip money and getting the td finished and road worthy by then, but I hurt my back a couple of weeks ago. I didnt think it was to bad, until last week when had to take a couple of days off and spend ALOT of money at the doc and physical therapy......

We are hoping to head to south Texas during christmas break with the td. Maybe there will be an outing down that way ...

again thanks for all the info and encouragement. We hope to meet some of yall soon....

Hey Danny
They would not let us too close to the ride after the charges were set in place. I was about 1200 feet away & 300 feet up in the air when the charges went off. It was very loud with a big concussion even at that distance. It was only six pounds of explosives but it made for a good show. We won't be able to make to LCGII but we will be at Inks Lake SP so we'll see you there.

Mike & Brenda
Too bad you can't make to Inks Lake. The weather should be very good. Not to hot & not to cold. We are planning to camp at Caprock Canyons & Palo Duro Canyon next year during spring break. Maybe we can get a group together then.

Postby CASHCOW » Sat Oct 06, 2007 6:26 pm

welllll we will have to see what the TD in Amarillo can do to welcome anyone who cames up for those two outings. Caprock Canyons is a beauty and so is Palo Duro Canyon. Guess we just get to used to it being in our back yard to notice sometimes.

Anyway.... we have "Travel fever" really badly right now. The td should be ready to head south over Christmas break. Mike will have a week off and of course I have a few days since school will be out. We will watch out for anything happening down south during that time.

We will be in Corpus Christi and on the island for a few days visiting Mike's Mom and sister. so give us a shout if anyone will be having anything down that way around that time..... So hopefully we will get to meet some of you teardropers soon.
