Sanding oh yeah did that. I used belt sander and small finishing sander. One thing that I did that I felt saved me time and headache in the end was I did the painting of the outsides and the staining/varnish of the interior side before I cut the profile - that way I could put it on pretty thick without having to worry about it running.

It's just campable right now though. I have lots more that I want to put in the galley and electrical. I have to get another piece of 5' x 5' 1/8" to line the hatch. Lots of hatch stuff to do yet. The 12-volt hookups for the fan and lights have been tested but nothing is hooked up permanently.

From May to August I was out in the garage at least 2-3 nights a week. September I felt the crunch and by then realized that everything took me twice and three times as long I planned to do, so as soon as I got done with the bread and butter job I was in the garage. Lots of pizza meals :) I didn't do any time consuming meals for a few weeks.

Since we have been out camping I haven't worked on the teardrop much and have taken a few nights off. It is strange feeling to just sit.

The teardrop looks great and the "man who didn't think you had it in you" to build one of these things sure looks comfortable in there 8)
You're going to love it each time someone asks your husband if he built it himself, and he responds proudly, "My wife built it!"

Great job! And fast, too!

Jeanette

Jeanette,
He did have lots of fun telling everyone that asked about the TD that I built it, as we knew a lot of folks we were camping with. And then the next question would be - "you didn't help her at all" - oh well if you count helping lift and hold a few things like the 3/4" thick sides when I screwed them to the floor.

And yeah he slept very comfortably in the TD, took naps, really likes it. I'm happy that he is happy with it :applause:

How did it pull?

It pulled like it wasn't there. There is a story here. On Sunday we stopped at Pizza Hut in Menomonie with some friends. DH was driving. We were all chatting away and he pulls into a parking spot and we proceed to get out only to realize that we have the TD behind and really couldn't just park like we did. I wish I would have taken a picture!! It was so funny just to see this poor little TD hanging tight. DH backed it up and then used two parking spots and parked crosswise.

I need to take to the feed mill scales and have it weighed yet. - I'll let ya know what it weighs in at

You have a trailer to be very proud of. I'm interested to see how the next one turns out. Did you tell DH yet?
