Carl....... the best of friends

Things that don't fit anywhere else...

Rick,
I buried my special dog of 16 years just a few weeks ago... I know how you feel.
Carl sounds a lot like Chance...
He didn't belong to you... You belonged to him.
I miss Chance dearly, especially his loving kisses.
It's hard for me to look at his picture right now, but it does help to remember the good times and put aside the experience of his last three days.
Remember the good times and hang on to those memories.
Chance was the second dog I've belonged to in my life...

Rick,

Words can't begin to express my sorrow. I'm so sorry you lost your baby Carl. Our pets could certainly teach us about unconditional love.

Rick,

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss! We lost our Copper a couple years ago. Since then we just haven't been excited about taking in another pet.

I hope your heart heals

Rick,
I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your dear friend. Losing Heidi a bit over two years ago was heartbreaking and one of the toughest things I've had to deal with. I sure do feel your pain and can sympathize with your loss. The day following her passing, I found solace through time spent with a group of friends from this board at a local teardrop gathering.
Carl sounds like he was a great dog and in time your sense of loss will be replaced with fond memories of him.

Sorry for your loss Rick. I too had to put my dog down due to cancer, she was 9 years old. Sure leave a big hole in my life, but I know she is in a better place.

Rick, I'm so sorry for your loss. Carl was lucky to find a safe and loving home with you...too many people won't give the big rescue pups a chance. I hope happy memories soon outweigh the grief you're now feeling.

You did the right thing. Often the right thing is not the easy thing. He gave you all he had and deserved the best from you. You gave him what he needed, a home, love and finally release. You did well.

I had Casey for 17 years when she passed. She had one collar her whole life, and it is on the mantle at home to this day. I know what you're feeling.

Sorry for your loss. You can get another dog, but you can never "replace" a good one. I hope you find another good one.
