Any time Lucas (my 14 year old son and camping buddy) is along......he wears a size 14. (Makes it hard to tell him to act his age and not his shoe size.) We call him Sasquatch around here. In a loving way of course.

On the other hand, there is a show on cable quite often called 'Bigfootville'. One of our long time neighbors is one of the witnesses on there. We tease him about it pretty often.

I was hiking one day/evening with my friend and our kids after work. The whole way I was trying to keep everyone moving along because I knew that we didn't want to be in the woods in the dark. Well, of course, it did get dark (dang slow pokes) and things got a little weird. I didn't see it, but my friend and the kids all swear they saw something that was "big, white and walked on 2 legs" and was very close behind us. I did hear something scuffling through the leaves, but I really didn't see anything (I was busy trying to navigate us outta the woods with a dying flashlight). Whatever it was, or wasn't, they really believed it was there, because they were really SCARED. I almost had to carry them outta there. I'm not gonna claim it was bigfoot, but it sure didn't sound too small.
Rest assured, when we hike now, they hurry when I tell 'em to.

:o could of been a Bear... here is a very important advisory bulletin...

In light of the rising frequency of human /grizzly bear conflicts, the Department of Fish and Game is advising hikers, hunters, and fishermen to take extra precautions an keep alert of bears while in the field. The Department has posted the following notice:

"We advise that outdoorsmen wear noisy little bells on their clothing so as not to startle any bears. We also advise outdoorsmen to carry pepper spray with them in case of an encounter with a bear.

It's also a good idea to watch out for fresh signs of bear activity.

You should be able to recognize the difference between American Black Bear and Grizzly bear feces (scat, spoor, dung). Black bear scat is smaller and contains lots of berries and squirrel fur. Grizzly bear scat has little bells in it and smells like pepper."

Never camped in Bigfoot country. Been in the vicinity of the Jersey Devil but he never bothered me.

How about Chupacabra?

No, no… I have it on good authority that the Grizzly population in New Jersey is greater or equal to it’s Bigfoot population… so be careful out there!
