Neat clip! It proves you only have to be smarter than the thing you are working on.

Ira, I recall seeing a documentary a few years back about the Coral Castle and they very "Different" man that built it. How the heck did he move those big coral slabs by himself? What's truly strange is that no one ever actually saw him working on it!!!!

I hope they never figure it out. Some things deserve to remain a mystery.

It's the Stonehenge of North America.

And when he gets his reproduction Stonehenge finished, is he going to throw a few lawn chairs and bar-b-que pit in the center and kick back?
Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).

Just when you think a problem is solved, an uglier result replaces it.

Bill, there's actually a segment of the population that believes aliens helped him do it.

More likely story is that he did the same things shown in that first video.

All built for a woman who wanted nothing to do with him.

Wikipedia has a good write-up on it:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coral_Castle

It's not far from me, but I've never been there.

Yeah, I've seen this before. He shows a lot of neat ways that some huge things could have been built by people long before heavy equipment existed.

It's easy for us to think of ourselves as smarter than those who came before us, but the people who built stonehenge and the pyramids -- Egypt and Mexico -- accomplished some amazing things without computers or heavy machinery.

What excites me is he does it all without slavery.

Either the easy slavery we all enjoy, driven by electricity and gasoline or diesel fuel, or the older slavery of draft animals, prisoners or serfs.

Hurrah!!

I live in Kansas so an odd roadside attraction like Coral Castle would just get a yawn here. I swear Kansas has more oddbal attractions than anyplace in the US. This one however, is the best.
