LCG and firewood

Postby oklahomajewel » Wed Oct 10, 2007 7:15 pm

Just wanted to know if there are some folks bringing butt loads of firewood?

I have a Honda Accord and don't really have room to bring much. And their are different folks sitting around at different fires at night, of course lots of wood needed for WarPony's... GO BIG OR GO HOME fire....

Just wondered if anyone is bringing a ton of wood....

I was just thinking about this.

I still don't know what Chrysler is going to have for me to drive that weekend. If I have a pick-em-up, I can bring my smoker, and throw in some firewood.

If not, you can count on me to throw in a few bucks to help pay for wood if someone else can bring it.

out-of-state firewood

Postby Bill P » Wed Oct 10, 2007 7:37 pm

I'm not sure about Louisiana but Missouri parks prohibits firewood from out-of-state because of foreign insect infestation. Might be a good idea to check with the park to see if they have the same prohibition before you lug firewood from home.

Gary and I will be bringing a bunch of wood ... we always have room in our pickup for wood. Always have brought wood in the truck and no one has every said anything about it being from out of state ... so hopefully no problems this time. Trudy

I plan to bring as much as I can stack in a single 'rick' across the bed of my little P/U. Gotta leave room for the smoker & other stuff such as ice chest(s). Still have the bundle(s) you bought at PJ CD  I'll bring that as well as what other I can round up ;)

Hey, if we are short on firewood, maybe one or two of the mystery campers are fifth-wheel campers. They have lots of wood in them.

Yeah, good thread.

Will there be firewood available to purchase some were around the campgrounds?

I have some, but that sure is a long way to haul firewood.

...they do sell those overpriced bundles at the CG office...last year I was going to see about having a rick or so delivered but so many brought firewood with them, that anyone wanting a fire had no problems...so hopefully, plenty of folks will bring a couple of arm loads of wood with them this time............

I'll likely squat at someone else's place for the night time fires and conversation... but would love to get some from Harvey or ? for maybe the cool mornings or such.
Will be getting there Thursday so will bring some with me to make sure there's a Thursday night fire.

I have a bucket of pine scraps I'll try to include.

I'm bringing a "rick" of wood to burn. I can haul a cord down, if need be. I love big fires and good coal bases........... it really chases the cold away on chilly nights.
