...or donate it for door prizes...on a personal level, I would not want to see gatherings turned into yard sales...afterall, that is what your yard is for...plus it is probably is not allowed by most parks unless some kind of permit was issued...I see no problem with offering the items for sale here and delivery/payment made at a gathering...

I think that it is a good idea.

Maybe, if you have something that is up for sale, display it discreetly at your tear (back of the tear). Most of the time, people stop by to view your tear (all over) just place your items on a table or put them out with a sign on it and make vistors aware.

Like the mad one says, why not make a list of stuff you have on this thread, and if someone wants it, close the deal at the gathering. That way, if nobody wants it, you aren't hauling it up there for nothing.

We can make this a LCGII Swap Thread, so when we get to the campsite, all we have to do is camp, eat, sit around the fire, eat, drink, eat, and have a good time -- and eat.

CD :)

...that was pretty much my thoughts on the deal...in fact, something similar could be done before any gathering, that way we could get rid of stuff that we don't need and others may want without having to worry about breaking any kind of campground rules.....

They are really good to us, we wouldn't want to do anything to strain the relationship.

i took a couple of things with me to the Camp Out w/ Camp Inn, but didn't sell anything...

but i do like the idea of looking around and finding some treasures while at a gathering... and to save on the shipping is awesome!!! but limiting items to a discreet clean display is a good idea...

it also provides a ice breaker of things to talk about when meeting people for the first time...

Ok,
Here's the deal. I have some surplus cast iron that I could bring to LCG2. I have 4 or 5 skillets of various sizes, a skillet lid, and a chicken fryer with a lid. All are used and nicely seasoned, some recently cleaned, some in use for years. I will post some details on sizes and prices tomorrow when I have a chance to check my "inventory". All prices will include free shipping to the LCG. (big deal with cast iron)

Also, and this is a major also, I will be putting my tear up for sale. I was not planning to seriously try to sell it until next spring but I will be starting a new tear this fall so now my Kit Klone is going to be surplus. If anyone at the gathering knows someone who would be interested in a recently built (2006) tear and would like to see it at the LCG please let them know. I plan to have a discreet "for sale" sign on the tear at the gathering if that is ok. I haven't posted it anywhere else yet but I may consider putting it into the For Sale forum with free delivery from Louisiana to the West Coast after the LCG.

I will put that cast iron info up tomorrow, in the meantime if anyone wants more info just give me a PM.

Jerome :)
