A Teardrop Novel author: You

I was thinking about having the forum collectively create a teardrop novel. Try this on as a starter. Our main character would be Doug Fredericks, famed teardrop builder who started building in New York, became famous, moved his operation to California, and now resides in Michigan, on the shore of Lake Coral Gables. Here he resides with his wife Joanne and their daughter Miriam. One day while walking out in the woods Doug happened on a raccoon who had become entangled in a bread wrapper. While patiently freeing the animal from it's predicament, a thought overpowered him. Why not build a "Time Machine" teardrop. This would truly be appropriate because Doug Fredericks does have a warped (wharped) personality.

Does this make a workable beginning and do you have anything to add?

The thought of a "Time Machine" teardrop was intriguing. Doug pondered the question as he absentmindedly watched the now released raccoon scamper through the woods. "If only it could be done," he asked himself, "and how might one work through the complex science involved!!!" "The complex measurements, the technical requirements, the cost...oh my God...the insurmountable cost!!!" he thought!!! Then looking around at the parklike setting, a calm serenity suddenly overcame him. A burning desire filled his belly, like the feeling of a welding spark catching a shirt on fire, and Doug was overcome with a steel like determination to succeed. "I can do this!" he shouted out loud with no one but the Gods and the raccoon to hear.

As quickly as Doug had been overcome by the rapture-like inspiration....a new smell wafted through the gentle breeze. A strange odor of burning charcoal interupted....
